Al Green Theatre, Miles Nadal JCC 750 Spadina Ave., Toronto, ON M5S 2J2 (1.4 miles)
Teo Milea: This Romanian musician was the first pianist to perform at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. He was also the Popular Vote winner on Radio CBC’s Searchlight music contest and he took home The Akademia Music Awards’ Best Ambient/Instrumental Album honor.
The Performance: Through a combination of classical music and 21st century style, Teo paints sonic portraits of the world and the people around him.
Also Featuring flautist Terry Lim, who’s performed around the world in venues like the Pierre Monteux Summer Music Festival and Carnegie Hall. Lim blends his bright, brilliant fluting beautifully with Milea’s rich, emotional piano.
What Critics Are Saying: “Some people write narratives with words, some with visuals, but some very talented people can construct pseudo-narratives from the music itself. Teo Milea has the rare ability to do all this with only the use of his piano… Milea has enough talent in him to become not only one of the next great piano players but composers, too.” – The Scene Magazine
