Stage West sates bellies, hungry jazz hands, and famished funny bones with an evening that includes a hot dinner buffet (drinks not included) alongside the spectacle of musical theatre. Arriving audiences find their seats in the tiered 600-seat Las Vegas–style theatre, then at 6:30 p.m. can forage the all-you-can-eat buffet, followed by showtime at 8:06 p.m.
Bow ties and varsity sweaters abound as the old gang rallies to save Arnold’s malt shop from demolition in Happy Days, a salute to The Fonz and friends that kicks off the subscription. The autobiographical Tuesdays with Morrie, starring Jamie Farr of MAS*H fame, follows a journalist who reconnects with an ailing college professor for a final master class on life and Fabergé-egg crafting. The Marvelous Wonderettes closes the season with four girls at the 1958 Springfield High prom who belt classics from the ’50s and ’60s, such as “Lollipop” and “Dream Lover.”
Audiences are advised the dress code requires finery such as dress shirts, slacks, blouse/sweater combos, skirts, and an imported shoulder parrot when donning pirate garb.
