True to its traditional name, the interior at Classico Pizza & Pasta is a study in timeless black and white. The dark ceiling and floor contrast with ivory brick walls, hung with bold, geometric paintings in the same monochromatic hues. The effect is that of an elegant blank canvas—a fitting backdrop for the colorful Mediterranean cuisine cooked up by the kitchen.

Light Italian fare is the specialty here, with new dishes dreamt up every week to accommodate seasonal produce and the whims of the moon. Meals begin with fresh salads and antipasti platters, featuring steamed mussels, calamari in spicy tomato sauce, and Italian meats and olives. Main courses might include pastas, such as homemade tagliatelle with mushroom ragout, or signature pizzas topped with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and grilled chicken. There’s plenty of color to be found behind the bar, too, where rows upon rows of wine bottles create a chromatic mural of sparkling glass and rich, dark liquid.
