The trio behind 3 Planteurs had overseen Christmas-tree plantations for years before they realized what was missing: the chance to see the smiles on their customers’ faces as they bought their tree. So, they started their business, which takes trees from farm to warehouse and even delivers them directly to customers’ homes. They grow balsams, frasers, and cook firs, three of the most classic-looking breeds of tree. To supply decorations in all parts of the home, they supplement their plants with other seasonal products, including stands and wreaths.

The three friends and business partners run their operation with an eye toward ecology as well. Since all the trees grow on farms, the business doesn’t require any deforestation. While they mature, the trees produce lots of breathable oxygen for the world to enjoy, a fact which the David Suzuki Foundation cites as one of the primary reasons why natural trees are more environmentally friendly and sustainable than artificial ones.
