Helmed by one of the first hot air balloon pilots to chart Canada’s airways, the fleet of captains at Beautiful Balloons transports passengers high above the Kawartha region on routes that soar over the rivers, lakes, and other idyllic terrain. Passengers converge at the Lindsay Airport, where their pilot discerns a route based on winds and the advice of passing weather balloons. Routes vary, but guests may have a chance to bob over Fenelon Falls, swoop over lakes, and skim cloudbanks. The two-passenger Sweetheart flights offer lovebirds a unique getaway with far more romantic potential than a catapult trip. Three-passenger private charters, meanwhile, send trios skywards during one-hour private flights.
After the hot air balloons’ final descent, passengers emerge from the gondola into an open field. Crews will then drive passengers back to their meeting location, giving sky walkers a chance to chuckle at the memory of the terrified birds their balloon silently snuck up on.
