The aromas of traditional Italian comfort food fill the interior of Sotto Voce Wine & Pasta Bar, a casually elegant restaurant nestled in Little Italy. In warmer weather, the smells even snake through the cozy, dimly lit interior, flow over the hammered metal stools that line a small window counter, and spill out onto the sidewalk patio.
While these Italian dishes would be right at home in a country kitchen or a country-kitchen film set, they don’t sacrifice high-end ingredients or presentation. Starters such as chianti-caramelized figs or Sicilian meatball ready palates for mains such as potato gnocchi with lobster in a brandy-cream sauce, pan-seared yellowfin tuna, and grilled beef tenderloin with garlic-bacon lentils. And while the hearty dishes could certain stand on their own, the staff can easily recommend by-the-glass wine pairings.
