Professional gardeners deliver and plant self-pollinating fruit trees, 4–6 feet in height, in your preferred plot. Those purchasing more than one tree may mix-and-match species. Choose from: apple (a $260 value), peach (a $270 value), Montmorency sour cherry (a $240 value), pear (a $235 value), apricot (a $230 value), and nectarine (a $235 value).
The idea for Fruit Trees to Go germinated in the minds of brothers David and Philip Brook while both were still in high school, an outgrowth of their desire to build a sustainable planet. They broke ground on the business in 2008, growing it into a crew of 20 expert gardeners who install orchards in backyards. To ensure the health of each sapling, gardeners evaluate plots in advance and bring fresh soil and baby bottles filled with C02 to the site on planting day. Biodiversity gets a boost from more than 30 species, whose buds can blossom and ripen without pesticides into Scout apricots, Flemish Beauty pears, and Lodi apples. Varieties are selected for the ability to thrive in cooler weather and to self-pollinate, and as proof of the team’s expertise, each tree is backed by a guarantee that it will flourish, bear-fruit, and inspire a children’s book within one year.
