Just a one-hour jaunt outside of Toronto, the Grand River Rafting Company allows aqua-riders to paddle along Southern Ontario’s longest river and capture all the breathtaking local sights. Chat with the friendly river staff to determine a safe-yet-exciting route for your particular skill level, then head out on the waters equipped with one of their sturdy Aqua Fusion kayaks, paddles, safety equipment, maps and other necessary supplies to begin your adventure. Glide through the islands of the Iroquois, drift into the panoramic view of the Grand River Valley, stop to drink from fresh-water springs or visit an abandoned gypsum mine from the 1830s. Most self-guided tours last about three-to-four hours and can be booked 48 hours in advance (weather permitting). The trips start at Bean Park in Paris, ON and end at the Brant Conservation Area near Brantford.
