After the success of 2010s 70mm film series, TIFF Bell Lightbox remounts the event with three more classic movies for your enjoyment this summer. The limited engagement gets kicked off with West Side Story (July 28-August 3), the trailblazing adaptation of the Bernstein/Sondheim Broadway musical set on the mean streets of 1950s New York City. Its then followed by Lawrence of Arabia (August 4-10), the legendary war epic that stars Peter OToole as a conflicted British Army officer struggling with identity and the consequences of violence. Summer in 70mm concludes with Spartacus (August 12-17), the Stanley Kubrick-directed historical drama that stars Kirk Douglas as the famed gladiator of Rome. All three films are presented in one of the five cinemas at TIFF Bell Lightbox in their original stunning widescreen 70mm format, with Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) available for the hearing impaired.
