Surf Ontario’s seasoned instructors have wrestled waves in surfing and stand-up paddle (SUP) excursions throughout Ontario and the globe. Students of all ages and experience levels develop paddle-surfing aptitude in one-hour private lessons. Novices begin with dry-land warm-up exercises, as well as a quick lecture on etiquette, safety, and dealing with lakes’ mood swings. Instructors then lead pupils out to calm water to drill efficient paddling cadences and board control while lying, kneeling, and standing on the board’s buoyant, gripped surface.

Students may test up to 10 SUP board styles and brands for fit, riding style, and potential on-screen chemistry. Surf Ontario staff outfit their aquatic pupils with all needed equipment, including the board and paddle. Coaches end each lesson by bestowing gear recommendations, welcoming students to browse the shop’s SUP crafts ($889+), UV-protected rash guards ($25.95+), and other water-conquering tools.
