At Forte Bistro, Chef Greg Argent prepares a menu that hosts modern bistro darlings such as crispy confit frog legs ($15), slow-cooked rabbit ($24), and mussels basking in a Belgian beer bath with friends frites and toasted almonds ($16). In a warm atmosphere where large windows admit unchecked solar shines, guests can dine on Dungeness crab and avocado salad ($15) while indulging desiderata for fermented grape juice with a glass of Celliers des Chartreux 2006 chardonnay ($9). Or try something from Chef Meiko Kimura’s traditional sushi menu, like the sashimi salad ($12), or the maki moriawase, a 12-piece selection of kamikaze, California, spicy tuna, avocado, hamachi and ebiten-asparagus rolls ($22). Forte’s lounge provides a chic eating space and a separate bill of bites that invites a nosh on a nibbler and sip of martini, and the restaurant’s extensive wine list is complemented by a fine selection of sweets and accompanying drinks.
